WorkSource Cobb/CobbWorks Launches the PowerUp! Pathway Apprenticeship Program

Utilizing a braided funding strategy with funding from Atlanta CareerRise and WIOA Cobb Works/WorkSource Cobb launched the Cobb Pathway Apprenticeship-Power Up! Program pilot. The short-term training program was created to increase economic mobility and reduce racial inequities through skilled trades training for minority and low-income populations. With intentional and strategic goals to improve diversity and inclusion PowerUp! partnered with Prime Power, a leading provider of emergency power system (EPS) services, struggling to recruit talent.

The program served as a catalyst to strengthen the talent pipeline for employers in the energy industry by bridging the skills-gap and cultivating an intentional pipeline of entry-level workers from underserved populations.

Congratulations, to our first graduates, graduating June 30, 2021.
