WorkSource Cobb works closely with Cobb's Accountability Courts. Yesterday, the Parental Accountability Court held their inaugural graduation. This program assists in transitioning chronic non-payers of child support to financial self-sufficiency and parental responsibility by addressing the underlying issues that hinder their ability to support their children. The program provides judges with an alternative to incarceration using intensive monitoring, judicial oversight, and partnerships with existing community resources.
WorkSource Cobb works with the program participants to assess their barriers to
employment and help them get back on their feet. Five graduates completed the program and were not only on track to continue their child support payments but also gain self-sufficiency.
